Verse (9:19), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (9:19) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and proper noun. The prefixed preposition bi is usually translated as "with" or "by". The proper noun is in the genitive case (مجرور). The proper noun's triliteral root is hamza lām hā (أ ل ه). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Sahih International: Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the maintenance of al-Masjid al-haram equal to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah ? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
