The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "let" and is used to form an imperative construction. The form VIII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine plural and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is wāw qāf yā (و ق ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
