Verse (4:174), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (4:174) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is nūn zāy lām (ن ز ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.
