Verse (30:30), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar


The first word of verse (30:30) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf wāw mīm (ق و م).

Verse (30:30)

The analysis above refers to the 30th verse of chapter 30 (sūrat l-rūm):

Sahih International: So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.
