Verse (21:44), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (21:44) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, supplemental particle and negative particle. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The supplemental particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so".

The analysis above refers to the 44th verse of chapter 21 (sūrat l-anbiyāa):

Sahih International: But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?
