The triliteral root ṭā rā dāl (ط ر د) occurs five times in the Quran, in two derived forms:
- three times as the form I verb ṭarad (طَرَد)
- twice as the active participle ṭārid (طَارِد)

Verb (form I) - to send away, to drive away
(6:52:2) taṭrudi | send away | وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ |
(6:52:22) fataṭrudahum | So were you to send them away | فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ |
(11:30:7) ṭaradttuhum | I drove them away | وَيَا قَوْمِ مَنْ يَنْصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ طَرَدْتُهُمْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
