Verse (9:13), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (9:13) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is khā shīn yā (خ ش ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine singular.

Verse (9:13)

Sahih International: Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.
