Verse (9:100), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (9:100) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and active participle. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". Sahih International: And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the An§ar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
