Verse (8:14), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

The second word of verse (8:14) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A supplemental particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The supplemental particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so". The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is dhāl wāw qāf (ذ و ق). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine singular.

Sahih International: "That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire.
