Verse (7:22), Word 15 - Quranic Grammar

The fifteenth word of verse (7:22) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and object pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form III perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is nūn dāl wāw (ن د و). The attached object pronoun is third person dual.

Verse (7:22)

The analysis above refers to the 22nd verse of chapter 7 (sūrat l-aʿrāf):

Sahih International: So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
