Sahih International: But when good came to them, they said, "This is ours [by right]." And if a bad [condition] struck them, they saw an evil omen in Moses and those with him. Unquestionably, their fortune is with Allah , but most of them do not know.

I suspect that this verb, like the same verb at 27:47:2, may be Form VIII rather than Form V.

Form V is correct. The original form is يتطيّروا but the 'ta' has been assimilated into the 'Ta' (idgham) for ease of pronunciation. The original of the verb at 27:47:2 is تطيّرنا. Note the doubling (tashdeed) of the letter 'ya' in both cases. If they were Form VIII verbs, there would be no tashdeed on the 'ayn letter of the verb.
