Verse (77:39), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (77:39) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A result particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is kāf yā dāl (ك ي د). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The of the first person singular object pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.
