Verb is Perfect. Translation shows it as Present Continuous. Translation needs correction. Moreover, donkeys do not flee from lion, to whom the hidden Subject of verb refers back. They are not flight animals like horses and Zebras. Arberry translation "startled" might be a better choice and near to ground reality, and since it incorporates involuntary movement.
