Verse (6:97), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (6:97) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form VIII imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is hā dāl yā (ه د ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
