Verse (6:68), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (6:68) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A result particle and prohibition particle. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The prohibition particle (حرف نهي) is used to form a negative imperative and places the following verb into the jussive mood (مجزوم).

Sahih International: And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversion. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.
