Verse (6:34), Word 16 - Quranic Grammar

The sixteenth word of verse (6:34) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and noun. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The noun is feminine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is kāf lām mīm (ك ل م). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
