Verse (6:34), Word 14 - Quranic Grammar

The fourteenth word of verse (6:34) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and negative particle. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The negative particle acts like the particle anna (أن). This particle belongs to a special group of words known as inna and her sisters (ان واخواتها).

Verse (6:34)

The analysis above refers to the 34th verse of chapter 6 (sūrat l-anʿām):

Sahih International: And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah. And there has certainly come to you some information about the [previous] messengers.
