Verse (6:122), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (6:122) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (6:122)

The analysis above refers to the 122nd verse of chapter 6 (sūrat l-anʿām):

Sahih International: And is one who was dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darkness, never to emerge therefrom? Thus it has been made pleasing to the disbelievers that which they were doing.
