Verse (6:109), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (6:109) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is qāf sīn mīm (ق س م). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, "The signs are only with Allah." And what will make you perceive that even if a sign came, they would not believe.
