Verse (67:6), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (67:6) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, preposition and relative pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The relative pronoun is masculine plural. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
