Verse (66:10), Word 10 - Quranic Grammar

The tenth word of verse (66:10) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A verb and subject pronoun. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person feminine dual. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (كان) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها). The suffix (الألف) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: Allah presents an example of those who disbelieved: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of Our righteous servants but betrayed them, so those prophets did not avail them from Allah at all, and it was said, "Enter the Fire with those who enter."
