Verse (64:6), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (64:6) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form V perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is wāw lām yā (و ل ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allah dispensed [with them]; and Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
