Verse (61:12), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (61:12) is an imperfect verb (فعل مضارع). The verb is third person masculine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is ghayn fā rā (غ ف ر).

Verse (61:12)

The analysis above refers to the twelfth verse of chapter 61 (sūrat l-ṣaf):

Sahih International: He will forgive for you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence. That is the great attainment.

(61:12:1) يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ . In the dependency graph this is marked as جواب امر

and امر is pointed to wards تُؤْمِنُونَ which is فعل مضارع.

Should it not point to ward جواب شرط and pointing to

شرط which is إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ?

This word is indeed جواب أمر to the command implied by the sentence تؤمنون ..... أنفسكم ....

(61:12) as if it reads: ءامنوا بالله ورسوله وجاهدوا في سبيل الله بأموالكم وأنفسكم

As for the شرط in إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ the جواب شرط is omitted because its meaning has already been given in the previous sentence "If you know..(that is better for you).
