Verse (60:9), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (60:9) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is khā rā jīm (خ ر ج). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is second person masculine plural.

Sahih International: Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
