Verse (57:9), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (57:9) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is khā rā jīm (خ ر ج). The attached object pronoun is second person masculine plural.

Sahih International: It is He who sends down upon His Servant [Muhammad] verses of clear evidence that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And indeed, Allah is to you Kind and Merciful.
