Verse (54:2), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (54:2) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is qāf wāw lām (ق و ل). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
