Verse (53:21), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar


The first word of verse (53:21) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An interrogative alif, preposition and personal pronoun. The prefixed alif is an interrogative particle used to form a question and is usually translated as "is", "are", or "do". The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for".
