Verse (4:7), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (4:7) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, preposition and noun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The noun is feminine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is nūn sīn wāw (ن س و). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
