Verse (4:76), Word 19 - Quranic Grammar

The nineteenth word of verse (4:76) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (كان) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah , and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak.
