Verse (4:54), Word 13 - Quranic Grammar

__

The thirteenth word of verse (4:54) is a masculine proper noun and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The case marker is a fatḥah instead of a kasrah because the proper noun is a diptote (ممنوع من الصرف).

Chapter (4) sūrat l-nisāa (The Women)

(4:54:13)
ib'rāhīma
(of) Ibrahim
PN – genitive masculine proper noun → Ibrahim اسم علم مجرور بالفتحة بدلاً من الكسرة لأنه ممنوع من الصرف

Verse (4:54)

The analysis above refers to the 54th verse of chapter 4 (sūrat l-nisāa):

Sahih International: Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? But we had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.
