Verse (4:35), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (4:35) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A result particle, verb and subject pronoun. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is bā ʿayn thā (ب ع ث). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Acquainted [with all things].
