Verse (4:2), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

__

The fourth word of verse (4:2) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and prohibition particle. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prohibition particle (حرف نهي) is used to form a negative imperative and places the following verb into the jussive mood (مجزوم).
