Verse (4:161), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (4:161) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and active participle. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The active participle is masculine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The active participle's triliteral root is kāf fā rā (ك ف ر). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
