Verse (4:113), Word 19 - Quranic Grammar

The nineteenth word of verse (4:113) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A circumstantial particle and verb. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "while" and is used to indicate the circumstance of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The analysis above refers to the 113th verse of chapter 4 (sūrat l-nisāa):

Sahih International: And if it was not for the favor of Allah upon you, [O Muhammad], and His mercy, a group of them would have determined to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you at all. And Allah has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you that which you did not know. And ever has the favor of Allah upon you been great.
