Verse (4:103), Word 16 - Quranic Grammar

The sixteenth word of verse (4:103) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person feminine singular. The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (كانت) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
