Verse (41:45), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (41:45) is divided into 2 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix and verb. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The passive perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf ḍād yā (ق ض ي).

Sahih International: And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt.
