Verse (41:25), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (41:25) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is zāy yā nūn (ز ي ن). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (41:25)

Sahih International: And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
