Verse (41:23), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (41:23) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is ṣād bā ḥā (ص ب ح). The verb (اصبح) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها). The suffix (التاء) is an attached subject pronoun.
