Verse (3:65), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

__

The sixth word of verse (3:65) is a masculine proper noun and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The case marker is a fatḥah instead of a kasrah because the proper noun is a diptote (ممنوع من الصرف).

Chapter (3) sūrat āl ʿim'rān (The Family of Imrān)

(3:65:6)
ib'rāhīma
Ibrahim
PN – genitive masculine proper noun → Ibrahim اسم علم مجرور بالفتحة بدلاً من الكسرة لأنه ممنوع من الصرف

Verse (3:65)

The analysis above refers to the 65th verse of chapter 3 (sūrat āl ʿim'rān):

Sahih International: O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
