Verse (3:57), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (3:57) is a feminine plural active participle and is in the accusative case (منصوب). The active participle's triliteral root is ṣād lām ḥā (ص ل ح).

(3:57:5) In عَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ. Why الصَّالِحَاتِ is always feminine and عَمِلُوا is masculine?
