Verse (3:29), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (3:29) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A resumption particle and verb. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn lām mīm (ع ل م).

Sahih International: Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent.
