Verse (3:153), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (3:153) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. Verse (3:153)

The analysis above refers to the 153rd verse of chapter 3 (sūrat āl ʿim'rān):

Sahih International: [Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.
