Verse (39:4), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (39:4) is divided into 2 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix and verb. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form VIII perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is ṣād fā wāw (ص ف و).
