Verse (38:42), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar


The fourth word of verse (38:42) is an indefinite form VIII masculine passive participle and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The passive participle's triliteral root is ghayn sīn lām (غ س ل).

Chapter (38) sūrat ṣād

(is a spring of) water to bathe,
N – nominative masculine indefinite (form VIII) passive participle اسم مرفوع

Verse (38:42)

The analysis above refers to the 42nd verse of chapter 38 (sūrat ṣād):

Sahih International: [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink."
