Verse (38:3), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (38:3) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form III perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is nūn dāl wāw (ن د و). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.
