Verse (38:34), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar


The third word of verse (38:34) is a proper noun in the genitive case (مجرور). The case marker is a fatḥah instead of a kasrah because the proper noun is a diptote (ممنوع من الصرف).

Chapter (38) sūrat ṣād

PN – genitive proper noun → Solomon اسم علم مجرور بالفتحة بدلاً من الكسرة لأنه ممنوع من الصرف
