Verse (37:56), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (37:56) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person feminine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is rā dāl yā (ر د ي). The of the first person singular object pronoun has been omitted due to elision (الياء محذوفة), and is indicated by the kasrah.
