Verse (34:16), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (34:16) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is bā dāl lām (ب د ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (34:16)

Sahih International: But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees.
