Verse (33:6), Word 18 - Quranic Grammar

The eighteenth word of verse (33:6) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and active participle. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form III active participle is masculine plural and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The active participle's triliteral root is hā jīm rā (ه ج ر).

Verse (33:6)

The analysis above refers to the sixth verse of chapter 33 (sūrat l-aḥzāb):

Sahih International: The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed.
