Verse (33:4), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (33:4) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A preposition and noun. The prefixed preposition lām is usually translated as "for". The indefinite noun is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is rā jīm lām (ر ج ل). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).

Verse (33:4)

The analysis above refers to the fourth verse of chapter 33 (sūrat l-aḥzāb):

Sahih International: Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior. And He has not made your wives whom you declare unlawful your mothers. And he has not made your adopted sons your [true] sons. That is [merely] your saying by your mouths, but Allah says the truth, and He guides to the [right] way.
